“Our mission is to cultivate inspired, creative, and well-rounded lifelong learners who possess the integrity and self-direction necessary to be contributing community members.”

    Dear Harrington Families,

A reminder that there is NO SCHOOL all next week for February vacation. The school and school office will be closed all week. We will return to school on Monday, February 27th.

I hope you all have a restful vacation with family and friends!

    Mr. LaCava

Congratulations to the Word of the Week winners for the word “indulge”.  They are: Cameron Wigmore-Grade 2; Aidan Kenney-Grade 2; Kate Green-Grade4; and Salim Gadiri-Grade 4.   This week there was no word.

On Friday we had some special guests from Parker Middle School! Members of the chorus, band and orchestra performed for our 4th grade students and talked about the middle school music program. It was great to see some of our former students performing!

Last night Dr. Lang and the School Committee had another Public Information session about possible building projects and plans for our facilities moving forward.  If you could not make it, the full presentation is available online as well as many different documents for you to look at. The School Committee will continue to look at options and make a decision in the next few weeks on which plan to move forward with.

With the recent snow our parking lot has become more difficult with large snow banks and less parking.  We have been working on finding solutions but would ask that you not allow your children to climb the snow banks for safety reasons and be extra careful when driving through and around the parking lot for the safety of all. Thank you for your assistance.

If you drop off your child in the morning we ask that you use the drop off line around the building. On colder days we will open the side door—if you see the white sign there please drop your child off at that door. Otherwise, we ask that you drop off your student at the regular spot.  We also have been watching cars come to the front of the line before letting their child out. Please know our system is designed so that you do not have to be at the front of the line before students are dropped off…we ask that you drop off anywhere on the side of the building so that the line will move more quickly. Thank you for your cooperation.

We try to get the students outside for fresh air as much as possible even during the winter months. Our policy is that we do not go outside if the “real feel” temperature is below 25 degrees. If it is above 25 and there is no snow/ice we will send them outside. Please make sure your child has a warm jacket, hat, gloves, etc. during the winter months.

Hello Harrington Families!! Another week, another snow day. Unfortunately we were unable to hold our PTO meeting but we will be meeting again in March so please stay tuned for that date!

We have a lot of great events coming up so please read below and we hope everyone has a great February break!!

HPTO Board for the 2017-2018 School Year

We would like to mention that there are still seats open for next years’ HPTO Board. We thankfully have had volunteers for the Treasurer and Secretary positions but we still need a president and Vice President. The PTO serves a very important purpose in our school and without enough members to form a complete board it may not be able to operate next year. You don’t have to do it alone! Many of our members now are sharing the responsibility with another person. So if you have any interest or would like some more information, please come join us at the next PTO meeting or feel free to get in touch with either Jennifer Perry or Marcella Kranz for more information.

Happy Camper Book Fair: S'more fun with Books

The Scholastic Book Fair will be coming to our school Monday March 6 - Friday March 10 and we will also be holding a special Family Night Book Fair Event planned for Wednesday March 8 from 6-7:30pm.

The Children will be visiting the fair during their normal library time slot during the school week.  We will need help from parent volunteers throughout the week. It is mainly to assist the children in picking out age appropriate books and helping them manage their money. This is especially important for the younger grades. Please feel free to sign up to volunteer for your child's library time slot or at any time available.

We will be holding a Bake Sale during the Family Book Fair Event on Wednesday March 8th from 6-7pm. Please contact Brandi Belair at if you are able to help out by donating a baked good.

    Collectors Night

March 8th will be a busy night! Not only will we have Family night at the Book Fair and the Bake Sale but we will also be having our annual Collectors Night. This week flyers went home for our Collectors Night so if your child has a special collection they would like to show off please sign up!
