Grant Funding Opportunities

Beyond the operating budget, we rely on wherever possible to assist with the educational experiences for our students. Below is a list and description of the grants available and used to supplement the educational budget. 
Town of Chelmsford Arts and Technology Fund ATEF
 
The purpose of the fund is to provide supplemental funding to support educational initiatives and projects that enhance the curriculum of the Chelmsford Public Schools.
 
240 - Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Federal Special Education Entitlement Grant
The purpose of this federal entitlement grant program is to provide funds to ensure that eligible students with disabilities receive a free and appropriate public education that includes special education and related services designed to meet their individual needs.
 
Title III: English Language Acquisition and Academic Achievement Program for Limited English Proficient Students (ELL)
Title III of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act provides supplemental funds to improve the education of English language learners (ELLs), including immigrant children and youth, by assisting the children and youth to learn English and meet challenging state academic content and student academic achievement standards.
 
Title IIA – Improving Educator Quality
The purpose of this federal grant program is to increase student achievement through comprehensive district initiatives that focus on the preparation, training, recruitment, and retention of effective educators. The goal is to improve the overall effectiveness of all educators, making those activities that focus on educator effectiveness a high priority.
 
274 Special Education Program Improvement
The purpose of the federally-funded Special Education: Program Improvement grant is to fund PD activities, which will advance the knowledge, skills, and capacity of educators to meet the diverse needs of students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), ages three through 21, in order to support improved educational results and functional outcomes for these students.
 
305 - Title I – Federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act
Title I, Part A of the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) provides supplemental resources to local school districts to help low-achieving students in high-poverty schools meet the state's academic standards.
 
632/635 Academic Support Services Allocation
The goal of this state-funded allocation grant program is to enhance academic support services so that all eligible students will meet the state's Competency Determination required for high school graduation.
